A bit About Me

With his finger on the pulse of technology and consumer electronics, Jon Cohen has been breaking, fixing and enjoying technology since childhood. His father often recounts the story of how Jon loved to unplug and replug RCA cables from the back of the TV as a toddler. These days Jon contributes as a tech journalist and correspondent to SiriusXM and Rogers Media, and as a photographer. Jon uses his years of knowledge working in consumer electronics to write and inspire his “What the Tech?” column.

MaskFone, a perfect solution for taking phone call, listening to music during the COVID-19 pandemic. During CES 2021 I was introduced to MaskFone, an innovative product that features a built-in headphones and mic in to a mask. As well this mask offers options to insert a filter such as a N95 or KN95. My review unit came with 3 PM 2.5 filters. This mask starts at a price point of $49.95 (US$) and was comfortable for me to wear and use while out and about. The audio controls offered a lot of value when I needed to answer a phone call or play/pause music rather then having to take out my phone. I think it is important to keep your mask clean, so I like the feature that the electronics are removable and thus you can clean the mask by hand.
