A bit About Me

With his finger on the pulse of technology and consumer electronics, Jon Cohen has been breaking, fixing and enjoying technology since childhood. His father often recounts the story of how Jon loved to unplug and replug RCA cables from the back of the TV as a toddler. These days Jon contributes as a tech journalist and correspondent to SiriusXM and Rogers Media, and as a photographer. Jon uses his years of knowledge working in consumer electronics to write and inspire his “What the Tech?” column.

Capsix Robotics iYU: The World’s First Massage Robot

Capsix Robotics iYU: The World’s First Massage Robot

Have you ever wished you could get a massage anytime, anywhere, without having to book an appointment or pay a hefty fee? If so, you might be interested in the iYU, a personal robotic masseuse that uses artificial intelligence to customize your massage.

During CES 2024, Capsix Robotics impressed many with the live demonstration of the iYU. It was very well received by both attendees and media members. The biggest problem the staff from Capsix Robotics had was that the waitlist to try the iYU excited the number of days of CES. Thus leaving some CES visitors disappointed.

The iYU is a product of Capsix Robotics, a French company that has created an automated massage device that could replicate the work of a human masseur and make massage accessible to everyone, everywhere, all the time.

The iYU consists of a massage table, a camera and a robotic arm. At first glance you might think it is a surgical tool or part of a space station. But in fact, the iYU first uses a camera to perform a real-time body scan and then uses AI to recommend the best kind of massage for the user, based on their needs and preferences. Finally, the robotic arm then performs a variety of techniques, such as pressure massage, deep massage, or relaxation massage, using a small foot-shaped attachment.

The iYU is designed to provide quality treatments that are consistent, personalized, and safe. The iYU can also collect data and feedback from the users and improve its performance over time. The iYU is available in worldwide and is starting to be more common in spas, and hotels. But I can easily see this offered at sports, fitness, and training centers.

The iYU has been praised for its innovation, efficiency, and simplicity, as well as its potential to revolutionize the wellness and therapeutic massage industry.

Capsix Robotics envisions a future where everyone has access to the therapeutic benefits of massage. They believe the iYU can play a significant role in promoting wellness, reducing stress, and improving overall well-being. With its sleek design, cutting-edge technology, and focus on personalized care, the iYU is poised to become more than just a massage robot; it could be a key player in the global quest for a healthier, happier world.
