A bit About Me

With his finger on the pulse of technology and consumer electronics, Jon Cohen has been breaking, fixing and enjoying technology since childhood. His father often recounts the story of how Jon loved to unplug and replug RCA cables from the back of the TV as a toddler. These days Jon contributes as a tech journalist and correspondent to SiriusXM and Rogers Media, and as a photographer. Jon uses his years of knowledge working in consumer electronics to write and inspire his “What the Tech?” column.

JLAB GO Wireless Keyboard, Ultra Portable, Great Quality at a Really Low Price that is lightweight and perfect to work on the GO!


The JLAB GO line of products is a mix of value and quality, you end up getting great quality for a really low price.


I own a ton of keyboards, Apple keyboards, Lenovo and Logitech have been my favorite for years, so when I got to test out the JLAB GO Wireless Keyboard I had no expectations and high standards to compare it to. That being said, I really liked the GO Wireless Keyboard! It was easy to set up and versatile because I was able to use it with my Mac, my PC, my iPad and even my Android devices (of course only 2 devices at a time can be paired with the GO Wireless Keyboard). It should also be mentioned that the GO Wireless Keyboard gives you flexibility to either use a bluetooth connection or a USB dongle for a 2.4 GHz wireless connection (perfect for older devices without bluetooth).


The keyboard is smooth to use and the key travel is short but not too short and it feels very similar to the Apple Magic Keyboard to me. The media knob on the GO Wireless Keyboard is found in the top right side of the keyboard and it gives you control of media playing including play/pause, forward and backwards for tracks. They hotkeys on the top row of the keyboard can be configured for either Mac, Windows or Android (chrome OS as well). Being a Mac user I really appreciated that they GO Wireless Keyboard had the Mac keys printed on the keyboard. Many third party keyboards will not have the control, option and command keys that Mac users know and love. Of course because this is not a Mac only product they keyboard features all the expected Windows keys as well.


The size and weight is impressive, the GO Wireless Keyboard is only 325g (with the batteries installed) and is so small and slim that it can fit into almost any notebook bag, messenger bag or purse (11.24 x 0.96 x 5.13 in)


Overall this keyboard has exceeded my expectations, JLAB has once again shown that high quality tech products don't have to cost a lot. In fact this keyboard is priced at $20.00 and is a no brainer for anyone to have as a primary keyboard, or just one for on the "GO".
