A bit About Me

With his finger on the pulse of technology and consumer electronics, Jon Cohen has been breaking, fixing and enjoying technology since childhood. His father often recounts the story of how Jon loved to unplug and replug RCA cables from the back of the TV as a toddler. These days Jon contributes as a tech journalist and correspondent to SiriusXM and Rogers Media, and as a photographer. Jon uses his years of knowledge working in consumer electronics to write and inspire his “What the Tech?” column.

Meet the Griffin PowerBlock USB-C PD 20W Wall Charger. A wonderful power adapter for the new iPhone. At CES 2021 I had the chance to learn all about the new lineup for technology products that Griffin has been coming out with. I was not disappointed by the MFI (made for iPhone) 20w (watt) USB Type-C power adapter. It was small and lightweight, and fit in the palm of my hand. Because it has USB-C it can take advantage of the fast charging technology in the new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. I was able to go from a dead phone to 50% battery charge in 30 minutes. On the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro I found that a good speed improvement on charging times as well. Priced at $29.99 (USD) I think it is an amazing value as it also includes the USB-C to Lightning cable.
