Apple's all new 2021 iPad Mini (6th Generation) Quick Look
Here is a quick look at the all new 2021 iPad Mini (6th Generation) On sale in store on September 27, 2021, the 6th generation iPad Mini features some new additions. Firstly is the lightning port has been removed in its place is USB-C port for charging as well as to transfer data wired to other devices. Of course USB-C port will also open up a plethora of accessories that can be added on to his iPad Mini. Accessories such as hard drives, hubs and musical instruments to name a few. Another missing attribute when comparing this new iPad Mini to all prior iPad Mini's is the home button. Now this 2021 model features a larger display housed in a form factor that is the same as the pervious 5 generations before it. While it does not offer FaceID like the iPad Pro models or iPhone (X, XS, XR, 11, 11 Pro, 12, 12 Pro, 13, 13 Pro) it does use a similar TouchID to the iPad Air 2020 (4th generation) and just like the iPad Air the iPad Mini's TouchID is fast. The TouchID is quick to respond and it very accurate as well. It is a shame that they didn't include something similar in the iPhone 13/ iPhone 13 Pro, but one can only hope it can be added in to future versions of the iPhone to offer dual authentication options for the device. In the video I also show the Apple Smart Folio for the iPad Mini 6th Generation. This accessory is just one of many different cases that are on the market, but like most first party accessories Apple has done a wonderful job on the fit and finish and while you pay a premium price for the Smart Folio many would say it is worth the money.
